There are 37 patients without a bed at Letterkenny University Hospital today, according to the latest Trolley Watch figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).
Of these, 14 patients are waiting on trolleys in the emergency department, while a further 23 patients are waiting for beds in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
Nationally, 579 admitted patients were waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO figures.
A recent publication of an annual report by the INMO revealed that close to 6,500 patients were admitted to hospital without a bed at Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) last year.
In 2025, 2,250 patients were left waiting on trolleys in the Emergency Department, while an additional 4,234 patients were without beds in wards across the hospital.
