OVER 300 cannabis plants worth up to €130,000 were seized during a drugs raid by gardai in Donegal.
They were found after gardai searched a house at Magherawarden in Portsalon on Thursday evening.
The search was carried out as a result of an ongoing operation by Gardai from Milford assisted by Gardai from the Divisional Drug Unit and Crime Unit based in Letterkenny.
A 28 year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Letterkenny Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
A total of 321 plants with a street value of €128,000 were found.
“These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities,” Inspector O’Toole said.
“Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality,” he added.
