Appeal for big turnout at schools protest

The meeting organised by the INTO, follows a similar recent demonstration in Gweedore which attracted almost 1,000 people.

Although organised last week, the demonstration is expected to be a timely display of widespread pubic outrage at the cutbacks which it has emerged will cost Donegal at least 30 teaching posts. Nine losses were confirmed this week and one school in Raphoe is losing four teaching positions this year.

Speakers will include Noreen Flynn, President of the INTO and the Rev John Deane, Church of Ireland, Ardara who is a teacher and parent.
