Dinny to drown Shamrock in Glasgow

A  TOTAL of seventeen senior and junior ministers will be abroad on St Patrick’s Day taking in locations including Australia, China and New Zealand.

Junior Gaeltacht Minister Dinny McGinley is to represent the government in Glasgow and Edinburgh for the celebrations.
Letterkenny Town Council is to be represented at the St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Philadelphia, Elizabethtown and New York by Fine Gael Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh and Assistant Town Clerk, Frances Tinney. The trip will cost around €7,000.

The Mayor of Donegal, Cllr Noel McBride plans to attend parades in Carrigart, Letterkenny and Kerrykeel. His plans to travel to Canada were knocked on the head after a political row at a recent council meeting in Lifford.

“I’m not disappointed that we’re not travelling to Canada. The country will be represented at various parades all over the world.

“However, I feel there is an opportunity to develop relations in Canada and I will pursue those, not for Noel McBride, but for Donegal,” Mayor McBride said.
