A TOTAL of 218 new jobs were created in the Donegal Gaeltacht last year, a two per cent increase on 2024.
The figures come as Údarás na Gaeltachta published its 2025 Annual Report this morning, outlining a year of sustained growth, strategic investment, and ongoing progress in enterprise, community, and the Irish language across Gaeltacht regions.
Currently, this brings the total number of people employed in Údarás na Gaeltachta client companies in the Donegal Gaeltacht to 2,690.
On October 31, 2025, there were 77 vacancies available with client companies, offering opportunities for Donegal jobseekers.
Chair of the Board, Siobhán Ní Ghadhra, said: “The fundamental objective at the Údarás is establishing communities where Irish serves as the language of daily life.
“Behind every statistic in this report lies an individual with deep ties to the Gaeltacht and a commitment to its future prosperity.
“We support entrepreneurs embracing the challenge to create something meaningful of their own, creating jobs and new opportunities.

Last year, client companies supported by Údarás na Gaeltachta achieved sales of over €1 billion for the second year in succession, underlining the resilience and international competitiveness of Gaeltacht-based enterprise.
Exports reached €697 million, representing 60 per cent of total sales and demonstrating the global reach of businesses operating from Gaeltacht communities.
In 2025, 681 new jobs were created, bringing total employment to 9,716 across seven counties, with growth recorded in four regions.
A total of 214 vacancies at year end reflects continued demand for skilled talent.
