Mountcharles' Deane James impresses in LA

During the weekend Deane attended classes on songwriting, production and artistic development. The Mountcharles man also sang his original song Goodbye Miss Jane at the Saturday open mic night and it went down a storm with fellow musicians and industry representatives attending the event.

Deane’s music was then pre-selected and played on the Sunday at the ‘Finding a Hit’ Conference in the Grand Ballroom in front of over 1000 Road Rally attendees and a panel of music industry heavyweights including multi-platinum producers and Grammy award winners.

Michael Lloyd (musical composer for the hit film Dirty Dancing as well as a producer of over 100 Gold records) commented on Goodbye Miss Jane ‘if all urban music were like that the world would be a better place’.

All five music industry panellists subsequently requested Deane’s demo and the young singer is hopeful he will hear from them in the not too distant future.

talent search

This isn’t the first time Deane James has impressed Stateside.

Last March he competed in a worldwide talent search by leading US telecommunication services provider At&t and cambio.com. On the Spot was the largest global online and interactive talent search to form the next Supergroup.

Participants from around the world have the opportunity to audition for music mogul Johnny Wright (Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers, Ciara) by way of video upload submissions.

Powered by AT&T’s wireless products and services, Johnny was with the participants and audience in groundbreaking fashion.

Johnny and his team of experts narrowed down the auditions to just 20 participants and one of them was none other than Deane. He was one of only two Europeans in the contest, but unfortunately he was disappointed and did not progress any further in the competion.

But doing so well in such a high profile talent search reaffirmed that a solo career is really what Deane James wants to pursue.

Deane writes his own original songs with a neo Soul vibe and has a voice that is a throwback to the greats of Motown.

It was compared at the Losa Angeles event to Donnie Hathaway and his idol Stevie Wonder.
Deane is eagerly trying to build up his fan base online and you can support him by logging onto his website deanejames.com and joining him on Facebook.

You can also listen to his songs including Goodbye Miss Jane and others and see if you agree with the music experts and their comments.
