Downings 2-10 Naomh Conaill 0-19
Fourteen-man Naomh Conaill had to dig deep to see off Downings in a cracking championship tussle this afternoon.
Naomh Conaill lost Jeaic MacCeallabhuí to a straight red card after 15 minutes, and goals from Cian McBride and Paddy McElwee had Downings level after 21 minutes despite playing against a strong wind.
Martin Regan’s Naomh Conaill did finish the first half strong and were 0-14 to 2-0 ahead at the break.
Downings gradually chipped into their deficit and the sides were level when Oisin Boyce scored a two-pointer after 60 minutes.
However, late scores from Eoghan McGettigan and Odhran Doherty (2) sealed a second win from three games for the Davy Brennan Memorial Park men.
