Derry 0-12 Donegal 0-6
Donegal finished the game with 13 men as they lost out against Derry in the Dr McKenna Cup Final tonight in Omagh.
Jim McGuinness’s Donegal played against a strong breeze in the first half and found themselves 0-5 to 0-3 down at the break.
That wasn’t a bad position to be in but Derry dominated after the restart and they scored three points on the bounce before Daire Ó Baoill pulled one back for Donegal.
Both teams then had players sent off with Brendan Rogers (Derry) and Patrick McBrearty (Donegal) shown straight reds.
Gavin Mulreany made it a three-point game with a monster free but Donegal couldn’t build up the traction they needed with Conor Doherty and McGuigan scoring for Derry.
Oisin Gallen was also sent off for a second yellow card for Donegal, who were well beaten despite a late score for Ciaran Thompson.
