Finn Harps lose again on their travels in Bray

Bray Wanderers 2 Finn Harps 0

FINN Harps took a third loss in-a-row as they were beaten by Bray Wanderers in the Carlisle Grounds.

The Harps went a goal down after 20 minutes as Ben Feeney headed down to Dane Massey from a corner and the experienced defender controlled the ball with his chest before firing in from close range.

In a first half of very few chances, Sean O’Donnell had a shot deflected out for a corner with strong appeals for handball, while Caoimhin Porter made a brilliant last ditch tackle to deny Conor Davis at the other end.

The second half began quicker for the away side and sub Daniel Okwute nearly scored 30 seconds after being introduced to the game but he couldn’t direct the ball towards goal from a Ryan Flood cross.

Sean O’Donnell hit the post with a looping head from a Porter cross and Séamas Keogh had a shot deflected and it almost ended up in the net but Alex Moody did well.

And with five minutes to go as Dave Rogers’ men piled the bodies forward, Bray countered through Harry Groome and Feeney, with the former finding the latter down the left.

Feeney crossed to the back post for Groome and he connected on the volley and fired into the top corner to ensure the three points for the home side.
