THERE are calls for a civic reception to be held for Susan McCauley, former co-ordinator of Cara House Family Resource Centre following her recent retirement to recognise her huge contribution to the community.
Cllr Ciaran Brogan will bring forward a motion at tomorrow’s Letterkenny Municipal District meeting and if agreed an event will be organised.
Cllr Brogan said a civic reception should be held in recognition of Ms McCauley’s “contribution to hugely successful community services in our community for all ages from, children’s crèche, teenagers, disability, adults, in children’s centre, training and education, active age services and health and well-being.
“First set up in 2004, Cara House has played a significant role within our community in so many different areas and as it continues to grow to meet the needs of people moving forward, and there no doubt Susan McCauley has been the driving force in making all this happen,” added the councillor.
Ms McCauley announced her retirement just before the new year after 17 years at the helm.
She has passed on the mantle to Martina McGinty who worked as Administrator of Cara House for over 13 years prior to taking up the new post.
