Donegal 1-14 Tyrone 0-23
Michael Murphy was sent off as Donegal exited the Ulster Championship this afternoon when Tyrone powered past them in the second half at Brewster Park.
The sides were level at five points apiece at the water break and Donegal then kicked the next two scores after the resumption.
They were granted a penalty in the 28th minute when Ciaran Thompson was fouled but Michael Murphy saw his spot-kick hit the post.
Tyrone responded with the next two points before Murphy was sent off in the 34th minute for a second yellow card.
The Red Hands led by 0-9 to 0-8 at half-time and they were soon three ahead before Caolan McGonagle scored a great goal in the 40th minute.
Tyrone added the next three points but scores from Patrick McBrearty, Michael Langan, and Niall O’Donnell had the sides level by the 53rd minute.
However, there was just too much room to cover in the last quarter and Tyrone were able to get scores at their leisure and they ran out six-point winners.
They now march on to the Ulster Final with Monaghan, while Donegal’s season is over.
