Mark English claimed a bronze medal in the 800 metres at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow tonight.
English showed a lot of aggression and went out strong at the start. He had to battle hard throughout but finished impressively in a time of 1.47:39 and that was good enough for third place.
The race was won by Spain’s Alvaro de Arriba in 1:46.83, with Britain’s Jamie Webb in second.
It’s the third time that English has won a European medal. He won a bronze medal at the 2014 European Outdoor Championships in Zurich, and also claimed silver in the European Indoor Championships in Prague in 2015.
