Sadness at death of Liam McConnellogue, Convoy

THE sudden death of Liam McConnellogue, Cornagillagh, Convoy, on Friday was learned of with great sadness across Donegal and the North West.

A life-time supporter of Donegal GAA, Liam gave many years of loyal service to his local St Mary’s GAA Club in Convoy.

A minute’s silence was observed at the annual Donegal GAA banquet on Friday night while St Mary’s GAA Club postponed their annual under-age presentations, dinner dance and AGM as a mark of respect.


Liam’s wake and funeral arrangements will be confirmed on Monday.

He is survived by his sisters Bernadette Gallagher, Tullyvinney, Raphoe and Margaret Gallagher, Townparks, Convoy, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Aged 62-years, Liam retired as a post office clerk in Letterkenny in November 2016, ending a 41-year career serving the community.
