HSE warn of delays following Storm Ophelia

THE HSE has released a statement warning that there may be delays in appointments and discharges from hospitals over the next few days in the aftermath of storm Ophelia.

In the Statement from HSE Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO) Area 1 which includes Donegal they said:

“There was a significant impact on the vast majority of health and social care services across the country due to the adverse weather conditions experienced yesterday.

“Throughout CHO Area 1 normal services have resumed today.

“However due to cancelled appointments over the past 24 hours and a subsequent “catch-up” period required, people can expect some delays in their appointments and discharges from hospitals over the next few days.

“In the event of a cancellation, people will be contacted by the relevant service and their appointment will be rescheduled as quickly as possible.”
