Met Eireann has issued weather warnings for Donegal as we can expect heavy downpours and thunderstorm activity throughout the rest of the evening.
A status orange weather alert for thunder was issued this morning, as well as a status yellow warning for heavy rainfall, as well as local spot flooding.
Heavy showers and thunder is expected throughout the evening and into tomorrow. It will be misty as well in hill and coastal areas, with top temperatures of 18 degrees celsius.
AA Road Watch warned motorists to reduce their speed when driving on wet roads, and to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front. They also advised to use dipped headlights.
