Donegal fiddler Theresa Kavanagh to launch new album

Donegal fiddler Theresa Kavanagh who will launch her new album in Gaoth Dobhair this Wednesday evening.

Donegal fiddler Theresa Kavanagh is back.
It has been a while but on Wednesday evening, December 27, Theresa will launch her long awaited second album,  An Choill Uaigneach.
The launch will take place in  Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair at 7.30pm as part of the renowned traditional music festival Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair. 
The Gortahork musician has enthralled audiences worldwide with her sweet tone and enchanting compositions. She brings a wealth of experience, having worked with top artists such as Mairead Ní Mhaonaigh and Donal Lunny and having performed at major Celtic music festivals such as Celtic Connections and Festival Interceltique, L’Orient.
Theresa launched her sell out debut album -The Seventh Veil-  in 2006. The Gortahork musician then began her new venture in 2009 but a year later decided to take a break from recording and performing.
Throughout 2017 Theresa has been back in Manus Lunny’s studio and is delighted to have the finished product. Eleven of Theresa’s original compositions feature on the album including the title track An Choill Uaigneach (The Lonesome Forest).  Belfast composer, Neil Martin will launch the CD on Wednesday evening. 
An incredible night is guaranteed with The Friel Sisters launching an album at the same event and to top it off there will be a feast of music from both artists plus Diane Cannon in the concert which follows immediately afterwards at 8.30pm.
