BREAKING: Man found dead in Buncrana

A postmortem is being carried out on the body of a Polish man who was found dead in Buncrana last night.

It’s understood the body of the man was found on the bridge at Millbrae at around 8.30pm last night.

Superintendent Eugene McGovern told the Donegal News a postmortem is currently being carried out on the body of the man to establish the cause of his death.


He moved to dismiss speculative reports circulating on social media the man had died after freezing to death, but added he was known to gardai.

“We don’t yet know the cause his death. A postmortem is currently being carried out on the man’s body. The man had been known to gardai.”





Andrew Allen, 24, was shot dead in front of his partner at a house in Buncrana in 2012.

The young woman's funeral will take place on Thursday.
