A man has appeared before Donegal Circuit Court charged with seven counts of sexual assault and indecent assault against a child.
The Belfast native, aged in his 60’s, who cannot be named under a Publication Order, had been living in the Ballyconnell/Bawnboy and surrounding areas for more than a decade.
The alleged incidents took place in Killybegs in the 1990s.
The man was arrested on Tuesday night in Ballyconnell and was taken to Ballyshannon Garda Station, where he was detained until his court appearance on Wednesday.
He was granted bail.
