A NEW acting course being hosted at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny is hosting a free induction day tomorrow afternoon (Saturday), March 28.
The WorkLab is a new six-week course co-produced by Workhouse Theatre Company and An Grianán Theatre and run by well-known professional actor, Iarla McGowan.
The course includes classes in acting, text analysis, theatre production, body awareness and voice with all courses culminate in a performance of a play at An Grianán in Week 6.
The Donegal News caught up with some of the participants of the course which comes to a close with the final performance in the theatre on Thursday night.
Ciara Boyle from Donegal town, is a first year Performing Arts student in Derry, but has found the WorkLab workshops an exciting new experience. Coming from a ‘musical’ background, Ciara has found the acting training has really benefited her in her studies in college.
“The two of them intertwine so I can do my best, with both of them complementing each other. Iarla has been very helpful and I would definitely recommend doing this course to anyone interested, whether it’s just for fun or to further your acting skills.”
The next WorkLab course starts on Tuesday, April 21, at 6.30pm. The course will run every Tuesday and Thursday night from then on for six weeks. For further details on the induction day or to book a place call Tel 074 9120777 or e-mail email@example.com
