TWO Donegal companies have been shortlisted for a prestigious Retail Excellence Ireland (REI) eCommerce Website of the Year Award.
This week, REI announced the finalists for the 2014 awards in partnership with Barclaycard. Among this distinguished group of finalists are Magee of Donegal and McElhinney’s of Ballybofey.
Back in June, McElhinney’s represented Irish retailers at the European e-Commerce Awards in Barcelona.
Only last week, the family owned store also won the prestigious Drapers ‘Independent Department Store of the Year UK and Ireland’ award for the second time.
The REI awards will take place in the Radisson Blu in Galway on November 1. The finalists were selected following a rigorous examination process involving, application review, mystery shopping and a store audit process.
David Fitzsimons, CEO of REI, stated: “I want to congratulate these progressive retailers for being selected. They are exemplars of the retail industry. Their success shows what can be achieved from the application of a strategic vision for retail in Ireland. All have been selected as finalists because they have shown a consistent commitment to excellence in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. The Irish shopping experience continues to match the best that retail can offer around the world. We believe that these stores are well placed to capitalise on a positive Christmas season.”
The awards are the benchmark by which the best in Irish retail are judged and is the largest awards programme of its type, boasting over 600 total entries annually.
The awards programme is the largest event of the retail calendar and recognises the professionalism and flair of companies, stores, websites and individuals in the industry.
