A MEMBER of a well-known Garth Brooks fan family has said Ireland ‘should have grabbed the bull by the horns’ when it came to putting on the now cancelled five dates at Croke Park later this month.
Karen Kirwin was speaking on Highland Radio’s Shaun Doherty Show this morning where her family’s dream of seeing their idol in concert had all began.
Following the disappointment of camping out and not securing Garth Brooks tickets for his Croke Park concerts this July ‘Country mad’ Letterkenny sisters, Karen and Edel Kirwin, had their prayers answered by the man himself.
Garth Brooks was speaking to journalist Greg Hughes on Highland Radio during the ticket sale rush earlier this year when he heard about the plight of the sisters well-known local Country singer Gareth Kirwin.
Having heard about their huge disappointment after failing to secure tickets, the American Country legend promised the sisters four tickets each for the night of their choice.
This week the family’s dreams were shattered when all five concerts were cancelled on Tuesday afternoon. But Karen told the Shaun Doherty Show this morning she felt the Country singer had ‘done right’. “I think he did right. At the end of the day it was supply on demand. We should have grabbed it by the horns.”
