Kevin McAleer to premiere his Irish language comedy in Gaoth Dobhair

Omagh's Kevin McAleer.

Omagh’s Kevin McAleer.

POPULAR Omagh comedian Kevin McAleer will be live on Rónán Beo @3 on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta this Wednesday, October 23, in advance of his debut appearance at the Cabaret Craiceáilte in Gaoth Dobhair on the following Saturday.

Kevin presented a TV series about Ulster Scots for RTÉ, Our Friends in the North, earlier this year, and was inspired by the experience to go back to learn Irish.

He has been attending Irish classes in Omagh, and will perform a stand up set entirely in Irish at the Cabaret Craiceáilte in Tigh Hiúdaí Beag in Gaoth Dobhair on Saturday, October 26.

Kevin will be talking to popular broadcaster and champion of the Irish language Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí on Rónán Beo@3 about learning the language, his series on Ulster Scots, comedy as Gaeilge, and more, on Wednesday at 3pm.

THIS Sunday's Paddy McLarnon Cup Final will signal the end of one of Gaoth Dobhair's best ever underage sides.

Gaoth Dobhair Under 21s defeated Donaghmoyne on Sunday.

The Health and Safety Authority have said an investigation into the tragic incident is underway.
