Gardaí hunt for man who fled drug grow house in Ballyshannon

As PART of a planned operation Gardai in Ballyshannon searched a house and sheds at Higginstown at approximately 1pm yesterday afternoon, July 24.

Approximately 380 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of €300,000 pending analysis were discovered.

A sophisticated grow house was in operation and gardai seized a large amount of electrical equipment, which included lighting and heating lamps.

During the search, a male fled the scene on foot. He has not been located.The scene has been preserved for a technical examination. The investigation is continuing.

Letterkenny based GP Dr James McDaid said that an ‘awful’ lot of people across Donegal were using benzodiazepines.
