A 23-years-old man has pleaded guilty to twenty-five charges of sexual assault against two boys and a girl.
At Letterkenny Circuit Court, the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault of a female and 21charges relating to the two boys.
The offences occurred on dates between July 2007 and February 2011.
The man pleaded guilty to each of the twenty five charges as they were read out against him. Barrister, Mr Denis Murphy said the complainants’ evidence had been taken on video and was of a particularly sensitive nature.
As the offences were very serious, Mr Murphy said he would be seeking a specialist report from Clinical Psychologist, Mr Leo Finnegan.
Mr Murphy explained there was a fear his client had an ‘addiction element in his personality’.
The court heard from Sergeant Joe Keely, who said the mother of two of the injured parties had concerns as the injured parties was visiting a drop-in centre also attended by the defendant.
Despite efforts by his legal team to confine his hours of visiting the drop-in centre, Judge John O’Hagan ordered he would not attend the centre between now and the sentencing date.
Judge O’Hagan, ordered victim impact statements and psychological and probation and welfare reports. He was placed on the sex offenders register and the case was adjourned to the next sitting of the Circuit Court.
