EARLIER afternoon nearly 600 people joined Letterkenny’s Everest conqueror Jason Black as he took his summit flag back to where his journey began – the top of Errigal.
There was a wonderful atmosphere as people of all ages joined Jason, his family and friends, to hike up Errigal marking the final leg of his incredible story.
It was yet another few days of tributes for the popular businessman after a beautiful new sculpture, designed and created by Letterkenny artist Redmond Herrity, was unveiled at the Cathedral town’s Market Square, followed by a civic reception at the town council offices.
But today’s trip was more of a personal celebration amongst friends and family as he kept a promise to himself and took the Donegal flag he raised on top of the world back up Errigal.
This day of celebration also raised funds for the much-needed work of the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team, who were also on hand yesterday to ensure everyone’s safety on this wonderful occasion.
