AS tends to be the case for any team trying to defend a league title, it has been anything but straightforward for Glenea United this season.
The Glasserchoo outfit claimed the title in dramatic circumstances last season, having defeated arch-rivals Gweedore Celtic on penalties in a play-off on a treacherous day in Ballyare.
Goalkeeper Shaun McClafferty was the hero that day as Glenea claimed their first Donegal League title since 2004.
At the outset of this season, many tipped them to march on and claim a second consecutive title and although they head into the final day of the campaign with destiny very much within their own hands, it has been a somewhat bumpy journey to this juncture.
Manager Tom Coll has had to cope without four players who started the play-off last May for virtually the whole of this season, forcing the Glenea boss to reshape his team under the increasing strains of a claustrophobic title race.
