VIDEO: Highlights from an unforgettable gig in a Fanad shed

BY SEÁN P. FEENY
A VIDEO of highlights from one of the most memorable gigs of 2012 from a shed in Fanad has just been published on YouTube.

On Saturday, September 8, Donegal band In Their Thousands launched their second EP Cellars by taking over 100 fans on a mystery tour.

Two busloads of fans landed to what was probably the coolest shed in the county with a roaring fire outside in the wonderful surroundings of Ballyheerin.

It was an unforgettable occasion for the band, their support acts Brendie McGlynn and The Capitol, and all those who attended. Music fans would talk about the event for weeks.

The man behind the camera on the night was Strabane’s Gav Kelly of DJK Photography who has put together this video of highlights.

In Their Thousands went on to win the Guinness Arthur’s Day Play On The Day Grand Final at Whelan’s and sell-out their first ever headline concert at An Grianán Theatre.

2013 is sure to be a fantastic year for this great band, but in the meantime, have a look at the incredible night you missed on a late summer’s night in Fanad last year.
