Eleven same-sex couples entered Civil Partnerships

THE introduction of Civil Partnerships in April 2011 has seen eleven same-sex couples make use of the new legislation in Donegal.

While some groups are seeking full marriage status for same-sex couples, Donegal County Council agreed to let the Constitutional Review Group determine the controversial issue.

Meanwhile it was confirmed this week that up until the end of September, 862 Civil Partnerships took place in Ireland so far with ceremonies held in every county.
