One cut too far

IRELAND’S longest surviving lung  transplant survivor has warned that lives will be put at risk following the ‘ridiculous’ decision by the HSE to scrap a bus service for patients from Donegal to hospitals in Dublin.

Speaking to the Donegal News, Brendan McLaughlin (45) from Stranorlar, who has been a regular user of the service since 1979, warned that the HSE plans to discontinue funding for the bus from July 27 would deprive sick people of getting vital treatment.

Brendan’s mother, Frances, is also a regular user of the bus service after heart surgery at Connolly Memorial Hospital in Dublin. She is Brendan’s carer at home.
