Cars queue for cut-price fuel

HUNDREDS of cars formed a mile-long tail-back on the main artery into Letterkenny this week as they queued to take advantage of a half-price fuel sale at the Dry Arch Filling station.

On Wednesday afternoon the word quickly spread that the station’s owner, Robert Spence who ended his  tenure of the premises expired this week, was selling petrol and diesel at half price.
The filling station, opposite the Clanree Hotel closed its doors on Wednesday afternoon, but not before hundreds of people had managed to grab themselves a bargain.
Once the half-price offer began on Wednesday morning, it was not long before the news spread by word of mouth and social networking sites resulting in hoards of motorists descending on the filling station.
