FARMERS and contractors in Donegal are facing another “major crisis” with the harvesting of silage as the worst June in decades takes its toll.
Reports from around the county indicate that around half of the first cut has been harvested, with the season running more than two weeks later than normal.
Chairman of the Irish Farmers Association (IFA) in Donegal, Mr PJ McMonagle, said the problem has been exacerbated by Wednesday night’s heavy rainfall.
