DONEGAL players had an extra pep in their steps at training on Tuesday night with team captain Michael Murphy rejoining the squad for the first time since injuring a knee in the National League defeat to Dublin in late March.
The Glenswilly man hasn’t played for club or county since and was put on an extensive rehab programme by surgeon Ray Moran from the Sports Surgery Clinic in Santry, Dublin.
However, his return to training has fired him back in the frame to face Derry in the Ulster senior football championship quarter-final on June 16th, a fortnight from tomorrow.
Murphy sustained collateral ligament damage during that Dublin game when he collided with a Dublin player.
