THE Mayor of Letterkenny has called on the Town Council to stop “flushing money down the toilet” after it emerged it is costing €26,000 a year to operate their two ‘superloos’.
Councillor Gerry McMonagle was speaking after figures obtained by the Donegal News show it costs the council €13,000 to service each of the automatic toilets at the Town Park and at Justice Walsh Road.
Cllr McMonagle was shocked to learn that it is now costing the council on average €7.42 to ‘spend a penny’.
